Bain Boeuf

Bain Boeuf is a popular public beach on the northernmost tip of Mauritius and close to the lively resort of Grand Baie.
How did I like the beach and is it worth a trip here?
Swimming and beach facilities
A wide belt of trees, grass and benches lines the beach from the busy road full of restaurants and shops.
From here you have to descend a few steps to the beach.
The beach itself has a typical Mauritian surface of fine light sand, but there is a wall of sandbags between the beach and the water to prevent algae from washing up.
Visually, however, the beach is not as idyllic as the beaches in the nearby resorts of Grand Gaube or Mon Choisy.
There are plenty of food stalls and free toilets in the park.
How to get there
The beach is just off the road and there's a large free car park right next to it, where it's no problem to find a free parking space.
There are bus stops at both ends of the beach and the 228 line runs once every 10-15 minutes in the direction of Grand Baie and Cap Malheureux.
