Trou-aux-Biches is the most popular resort in northern Mauritius and is home to the most resorts and truly beautiful long beaches ideal for relaxing.

Trou-aux-Biches is often visited by tour operators from Europe, but the resort is also popular with individual travellers.

The town itself is very small, but you will still find plenty of restaurants, shops and services.

Top resorts in Trou-aux-Biches

Great beaches and calm sea

The resort boasts some of the best beaches, as well as much better climatic conditions than those of the south-eastern part of the island.

All the local beaches are covered in fine white sand and are also pleasant to walk and run on.

There are several public beaches in the resort, as well as resort hotel beaches, which you can visit, but you cannot use sunbeds and umbrellas (these are only available to hotel guests).

The entrance to the water is very gradual and the sea is usually calm without waves.

If you're looking for a spacious beach outside of town, take a leisurely 10-15 minute walk north to Mon Choisy, Mauritius' longest public beach.

Trou-aux-Biches is an absolutely great destination for diving and snorkelling, as there is an extensive coral reef just about 1km offshore.
