La Vanille

La Vanille Nature Park is the largest captive Aldabra tortoise reserve in the world.
The local restaurant also offers a crocodile-on-a-plate dining experience. Try the crocodile steak or another of the specialties. There are also bats, crocodiles, monkeys, macaques and many other animals to see.

Nearby is the plantation estate of St. Aubin, where grows vanilla and produces excellent rum. During the tour, you will be guided through all the stages of its production along with a tasting. You can also buy fresh vanilla and other vanilla products.

How to get there
La Vanille park is located near the village of Riviere des Anguilles and the turn off the main road is clearly signposted.
You can park at the site from here.
The nearest bus stop is in the centre of Riviere des Anguilles about 1.5 km from the entrance.
