The beautiful beach of Gris Gris is unique thanks to the black rocks that are crashed by the violent waves of the Indian Ocean. It is the strong sea currents and large waves that make it unsuitable for swimming.

After a short walk along the coast, continue to the cliffs of La Roche Qui Pleure, translated as the Weeping Face. If a big wave comes in, one of the rocks of the outcrop resembling a face looks like it is crying.

The area around Gris Gris Beach invites short walks along the cliffs and reflective thoughts as you look out over the churning ocean.

Gris Gris beach forms the southernmost point of the island of Mauritius and is located on the outskirts of the town of Souillac.
