Knights Alley

The Street of the Knights is one of the best preserved medieval streets in Europe.
It is located in the northern part of the Old Town of Rhodes. The alley leads from the majestic Palace of the Grand Masters to the former Knights' Hospital, today the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes.
Dating back to the 14th-15th centuries, this building served as a residential area for members of the Order of St. John (Johanites).
The street was formerly filled with inns with accommodation where each inn represented one language group of the order - for example, French, German or Aragonese. This Gothic architecture has remained almost intact and creates a unique atmosphere.
