Rhodes in a nutshell

Rhodes

Rhodes is one of Greece's most famous islands, attracting a variety of beaches in bustling, fun-filled resorts, but also romantic beaches in coves, under cliffs or far away from civilization.

But the island of Rhodes is not just synonymous with summer holidays. The capital Rhodes Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its exceptionally well-preserved historic centre. The picturesque town of Lindos with its monumental acropolis is also beautiful, and various castles or archaeological sites can be found all over the island.

Hiking enthusiasts will also enjoy the beautiful hilly landscape full of pine forests. You will be completely alone on many of the hiking trails.

Rhodes is also perfectly situated for day trips to the surrounding small islands - most often Symi or Chalki.

We've travelled completely around Rhodes by car and bus and in this guide we share our experiences and tips.
