Corfu in a nutshell

One of the most beautiful Greek islands, it is the second largest Ionian island and the seventh largest Greek island.
It earned its nickname of the Emerald Isle due to the lush green vegetation, which is not very common on other Greek islands and which covers a large part of Corfu. In Greek, the island is called Kerkyra and you will often find it under this name in guidebooks.
Corfu offers beautiful beaches in photogenic coves and straight long beaches in resorts, but also completely away from civilisation. In the evening, sit in one of the many romantic tavernas and if you get tired of swimming in the sea, go on a road-trip along the winding hilly roads. Welcome to Corfu.
