Clock Tower

The Clock Tower is one of the symbols of the Old Town and has the best view of Rhodes Town. It is known among the locals as Roloi.
It is located right in the centre near the Suleiman Mosque and the popular Orpheus Street full of tourist restaurants and shops.

The current appearance of the tower dates back to 1856, when Rhodes belonged to the Ottoman Empire, but clock towers have stood on this site since the 7th century.
The highest viewpoint in the Old Town
The top of the tower is the highest point within the Old Town and although you can hardly see the Clocktower from a distance due to the dense development, the observation deck offers breathtaking views of the entire town and harbour.
There are quite steep steps leading up to the observation deck, but as the tower is only 30 metres tall, most tourists can make it to the top.
There are 53 steps to climb, but the view is definitely worth it.
Entrance fees and opening hours
The lookout is open every day from 9:00-21:00.
The price of a ticket to the viewpoint is 5 eur and can be paid by cash or card.
Our tip: We recommend visiting the tower in the early evening at sunset or shortly after the city gradually lights up. On the other hand, expect the largest number of visitors at the tower at this time and queues can form longer than 10 minutes.
