Chalki in a nutshell

View from Chalki Castle

Chalki is one of the smallest inhabited Dodecanese islands with only 450 permanent inhabitants. However, due to its location just under 20 km west of Rhodes, it is a popular destination for day trips or even two-day excursions.

The enchanting island attracts tourists to its monumental arid mountains with breathtaking views, beaches with crystal clear waters and the incredibly pretty and well maintained harbour town with its colourful houses.

Chalki is simply the perfect place to unwind and if you want to experience a complete break from the hustle and bustle of the busy resorts, make sure you stay on the island for at least 1 night.

After the last ferry departs, the island will be quiet and dark and you will be able to enjoy the sky full of stars and the gentle sound of the sea without any disturbance of civilization.
