Getting to Rhodes Town

Rhodes Town is the main transport hub of the whole island and if you plan a trip on your own, you will almost always travel through the town.
For general and more useful information about getting to the island, see the chapter How to get to Rhodes.
Parking in town
You will often travel to Rhodes town by rental car as part of a road-trip around the island.
Street parking is usually free, however the streets are narrow, often one-way and finding a free space can be really challenging.
We've also travelled to Rhodes by car, and here are our tips on where to park conveniently in the large free car parks:
- Plateia Peisirodou (see location on map) - near the main port and the eastern end of the Old Town
- Plateia Kountourioti (see location on map) - in Mandraki harbour, but the car park is often crowded very early in the morning
Main bus station
Rhodes town is the main hub for both bus companies - KTEL Rhodes and D.E.S. Rhodes.
Both have their main station at the same bus station, which is adjacent to the Nea Agora market building right in the centre of town.
For detailed information about travelling by bus, see the chapter Transportation on Rhodes.
Boats and ferries
All the main ports of the island are located in Rhodes.
As most travellers come not only to visit the town, but the whole island, we provide detailed information in the chapter How to get to Rhodes.
