It's hot, humid, crowds outside. A few steps further on you enter Cloud Forest and within a second the environment turns around - cold, fog and a waterfall falling from a height of several dozen meters in front of you.

The contrast works instantly.

The whole space is designed as a "mountain", which you move along on footbridges - for a moment you're on top overlooking the whole dome, then you descend down among the plants. This makes it feel not like a classic greenhouse, but a thoughtful experience that keeps you going.

If you choose one paid section of Gardens by the Bay, it makes the most sense to go here.

Hotels by Marina Bay

Is Cloud Forest worth a visit?

Yes, if:

  • you want the strongest part of Gardens by the Bay
  • you're looking for more than just a photo op
  • you want to take a break from the heat
  • you don't mind paying admission

❌ Not if you:

  • you have minimal time and only want the outdoor area
  • you don't like enclosed spaces
  • you prefer purely natural places without design

What awaits you inside

Cloud Forest combines several elements that together give a much stronger impression than each part separately.

A giant indoor waterfall

  • one of the tallest indoor waterfalls in the world
  • right at the entrance

The waterfall is the first thing you see - and the moment that sets the expectation for the rest of your visit.

Footbridges and viewing paths

  • walkways high above the ground
  • views of the entire interior of the dome

You gradually walk through the entire space from top to bottom, so the environment is always changing.

A misty mountain setting

  • tropical plants in a humid climate
  • periodic "misting"

The atmosphere is completely different from outside - more of a mountain tropical forest than an urban greenhouse.

Educational sections

  • Interactive exhibitions on climate
  • smaller exhibitions

They complement the main trail, but are not the reason to come here.

How much time to set aside

  • approx. 1-1.5 hours

More if you are taking photos or going slower.

Most common mistakes

1️⃣ Underestimating the time
It's not a quick stop.

2️⃣ Bad timing
Better to get here early and leave for the outdoor area in the evening.

3️⃣ Completely skipping
You'll miss out on the most powerful part of the whole area.
