A small island and nature reserve in one, it seeks to recreate the original Mauritius before the arrival of the first settlers. You will have the unique opportunity to see native animal and plant species such as the pink pigeon or the ebony trees. The island is also home to the Aldabra tortoise.

Currently, it is not possible to visit Ile aux Aigrettes on your own and it is not possible to disembark and walk around the island.

However, cruises regularly stop in close proximity to the island as part of the so-called 5 Islands Tour, which is described in more detail in the chapter What to do in Mauritius.
