Alexandra Falls is a pair of roughly 35-metre high waterfalls at an altitude of over 700 metres amidst dense green vegetation.

Unlike the very strenuous trek to the more famous 7 Cascades, Alexandra Falls is an ideal quick stop. In fact, you can drive almost right up to the cliff's edge - there's only a 3-minute leisurely trail from the parking lot.

Hiking around the falls

As well as the very short trail from the car park to the viewing platform, you can extend your stay around Alexandra Falls by trekking to the smaller Cascade des Galets waterfalls.

You can expect an elevation gain of about 150 metres and a distance of 1,200 metres in one direction.

How to get there

The falls can only be reached by car or taxi. Buses do not stop anywhere near the falls.

Alexandra Falls is located on the main road running through Black River Gorges NP.

The spacious parking lot is free of charge.
