Traganou beach

The quiet Traganou beach (sometimes spelled Traounou) is connected to Afandou beach and is popular for its relaxed atmosphere and good conditions for snorkelling and diving thanks to the reefs that border it on the north side.
Traganou is a great alternative to the much more photogenic but also considerably more crowded beaches of Anthony Quinn and Ladiko bays, which are a 10-minute drive away.
The beach and its facilities
Traganou is about 600 metres long, but loosely follows a long strip of beaches through Afandou to Kolymbia town.
The beach lies completely outside the town and is one of the most peaceful, yet well-equipped beaches on the east coast.
There are several snack stalls, shops selling drinks, food and beach equipment and of course sunbeds and umbrellas for hire (approx 12 eur for a set of 2 sunbeds for 1 day).
If you were considering accommodation in a quiet area away from the big cities, we'd recommend checking out the availability at the highly rated Villa Despina family apartment about 450 metres from the beach.
How to get there?
There is a large free car park right next to the beach, where you can easily find a free parking space even in high season.
The turn off from the main road is well signposted and lies between Faliraki and Afandou.
There are no buses directly to the beach. The nearest bus stop called "Traganou Beach - E21" is on the main road about 800 metres from the beach.
Buses run very frequently (2-4 times per hour) on the route Rhodes Town - Faliraki - Kolymbia - Lindos, see timetable.
