Faliraki

The seaside resort of Faliraki is one of the liveliest places in Rhodes, with a really rich offer of resorts and tourist services.
Large hotel complexes line the beach along with many restaurants, tavernas, bars and fast-food outlets. A short walk from Faliraki, you can enjoy fun at the largest waterpark in Greece, and right in town, admire the sea fish at the AquaWorld aquarium.
Beaches and swimming
In Faliraki, you'll find the longest town beach on the island of Rhodes. At 4km long, you'll always find a spot here, and the further you go from the centre of Faliraki, the fewer people you'll be around. The entrance to the sea is nicely gradual and free of rocks, making the beach suitable for children.
The vast majority of the beach is sandy, but the roughly 5m strip just off the water is full of pebbles.
At the same time, Faliraki offers full tourist facilities, so you can enjoy both a lively atmosphere and a quieter environment away from the centre.
The beach in Faliraki has all the facilities from showers to toilets, sunbed hire and dozens of different water activities and sports on offer.
The best beaches in Faliraki
There are 3 beaches in Faliraki.
- The main beach of Faliraki - a 4 km long beach along the entire resort with a large selection of different services.
- Kathara beach - a nice beach in a smaller bay about 5 minutes walk south of the town centre, suitable for snorkelling for beginners.
- Mandomata beach - one of the most popular beaches on the east coast, located 10-15 minutes walk south of the centre under the hill with the observatory and has beautiful photogenic surroundings.
Just about 2 km south of Faliraki you will find the most famous beaches of Rhodes - Anthony Quinn Bay and Ladiko Bay.

There are several bars on the beach that rent sunbeds and umbrellas. The average price for a set of two sunbeds and an umbrella for 1 day is 20 eur.
Water sports and prices
In Faliraki you have a complete range of entertainment options at sea. From renting a pedal boat to parasailing, banana boat rides or water skiing. Examples of prices:

Tourist services in Faliraki
Faliraki is one of the most touristic towns in Rhodes and therefore you will find full facilities here.
The main streets are literally lined with various shops selling fashion, beach equipment and especially souvenirs. However, prices are high here.
Apart from the shops, you will find a huge number of restaurants and also various tourist agencies offering boat trips, snorkelling or diving.

Faliraki offers a wide range of accommodation options for all kinds of travellers.
From luxury hotels right on the beach with prices from 150 eur per night for two, to smaller guesthouses further away from the sea, which can be booked well in advance (at least 3 months in advance) around 75 eur.

The resort of Falirki is one of the main Rhodesian holiday resorts. A belt of hotel resorts stretches along the entire beach north of the centre of Faliraki, where swimming conditions are probably the best on the island.

Transport to Faliraki
You can easily travel to Faliraki on your own.
By car
Faliraki is right on the main ring road around the island and is very easy to reach by car.
All car parks are free and you can park for free on the streets normally. The largest and most accessible car park is at the church of Saint Nectarios (see location on map), from where you can walk to the beach in 5-10 minutes.

By bus
There are many KTEL Rhodes bus lines that pass through Faliraki. Tickets can only be purchased from the driver with cash.
There are stops along the main road at each of the larger resorts, and some lines also go to Mantomata beach off the main road.
- Faliraki centre - Rhodes Airport (line 25), 2x per hour, price 3,50 eur
- Mantomata - Faliraki centre - Rhodes Town, 1x per hour, price 2,50 eur
- Faliraki centre - Rhodes Town, 2x per hour + 2x per hour approx. 10 minutes longer route via Kallithea Springs, price 2,50 eur
- Faliraki centre - Kallithea Springs (line 40), 2x per hour, price 2,50 eur
- between approx. 6:30 and 16:00, line 40 is operated by D.E.S. Roda, where payment can be made by card at the driver, between approx. 16:00 and 12:30, line 40 is operated by KTEL Roda, where payment can only be made by cash at the driver
- Faliraki centre - Lindos, 1-2 times per hour, price 4,50 eur
- Mantomata - Faliraki centre - Lindos, 1x per 2 hours, price 4,50 eur
- Mantomata - Faliraki centre - Anthony Quinn and Ladiko beaches, 6 times a day, price 2,50 eur
- Faliraki centre - Kolymbia Beach, 1x per hour, price 2,20 eur, more connections stop on the main road about 1,5 km from Kolymbia Beach (buses towards Lindos)
