Monastery of Panagia Ypseni Lardos

From the town of Lardos it is possible to take a trip to the women's monastery of Panagia Ypseni (sometimes spelled Ipseni).
A large monastery that is home to a small community of nuns who make their living selling local produce.
Panagia Ypseni is a well-maintained complex that has recently undergone a complete renovation. The current appearance of the monastery dates back to the mid-19th century.
From the monastery, you can take the Stations of the Cross on foot to the nearby hill (about a 10-minute walk).
Admission and opening hours
The exterior areas and courtyards of the monastery are freely accessible to the public, however, the church and the interior of the monastery are not.
How to get there
The only convenient way to reach the monastery is by car on the asphalt road from the town of Lardos.
You can also walk there, as the traffic on the road is absolutely minimal, but the distance there and back is over 8.5 km.
