Castle of Asklipio

The ruins of Asklipio Castle remain hidden to many tourists, as it is located in the village of the same name in the hinterland off the main tourist routes.
As with most Rhodes landmarks, the history of Asklipio Castle is linked to the Knights of Malta, who ruled Rhodes from the early 14th century.
The castle began to decay in the 16th century after the Ottoman Empire took over Rhodes.
Breathtaking views of the valley
Quite a large part of the outer walls have been preserved and the ruins of Asklipio Castle are therefore still monumental.
Although it is not as close to the sea as, say, Feraklos Castle, the views are stunning.
Entrance fees and opening hours
The Asklipeio ruins are open 24/7 and admission is free.
How to get there
You can drive up to the castle and park in the free car park.
There is another car park in the centre of Asklipeio village, from where the castle can be reached on foot in 15 minutes.
There are no regular buses to Asklipio.
