January can be a great opportunity to head to the south of Portugal and explore the Algarve during the quieter off-peak season. Ryanair is offering return flights from Vienna to Faro from as little as 61 eur, for both week-long stays and long weekends.

For a week-long stay, you could set off on the following dates, for example:

• 24–31 January for 61 eur
• 10–17 January for 69 eur

Another interesting option is a long weekend from 15–17 January for 72 eur. The flight departs from Vienna on Friday at 17:45, and the return flight from Faro is on Sunday at 13:55.

Take a look at the accommodation options too. A hire car will come in handy for exploring the local area.
