Namtok Than Sadet National Park
Namtok Than Sadet is not just one "waterfall", but a whole stretch of jungle with a river that flows through a rocky bed to Haad Sadet beach.
It is this part that is the most interesting part of the place - natural cascades, boulders, small pools and overall a much wilder atmosphere than anywhere else on Koh Phangan.

What you'll actually see here
- A riverbed with stone steps
- smaller "waterfalls" and cascades
- pools suitable for short refreshments
- jungle around you
It's not one photogenic spot, but rather a natural area that you drive through on your scooter/car and occasionally stop at the cascades.
Does it make sense to walk along the river?
Unfortunately you can't do that the entire length of it. You always have to scooter/car for a bit, stop at the marked river entrance and walk a bit along the cascades.
- the possibility to climb the rocks and discover other parts
- minimum people outside the main entrance
The further you go, the wilder it gets.
Parking is always hassle free at the main road (about 2 minutes walk to the river).
Reality by season
- after rains → stronger current, interesting cascades
- in dry weather → only smaller pools and weak flow
Without water, it's not about the waterfall, but about the jungle atmosphere.
Entrance fees and opening hours
There are national park ranger stations along the various paths from the road to the falls.
Here you have to pay an entrance fee of 100 thb per person.
The fee includes entry to Phaeng Noi waterfall on the other side of the island and can only be paid in cash.
Officially open 8:30am-4pm, but outside of these hours you can walk down to the river along the path too - free of charge.
