We travelled the length and breadth of Koh Phangan – from bustling Haad Rin to the secluded coves in the north, where in the evening all you can hear are the cicadas and the sea. The island is ideal for 3–5 days, but you could easily stay for a week or longer – especially if you’re looking for a slower pace, beautiful beaches without the crowds, and a more authentic Thailand than you’ll find in the busier tourist spots.
