Boat Quay is a short stretch along the Singapore River, a short walk from Merlion Park. A row of colourful houses, restaurants, bars and views of skyscrapers - just what you expect from Singapore.

It's more of a stopping off point than a standalone attraction, perhaps when walking between Marina Bay and Chinatown.

What to expect

  • Restaurants along the water (rather expensive and often quite touristy)
  • bars and evening atmosphere
  • views of the downtown skyline
  • shopping in the adjacent Clarke Quay shopping centre
  • Tourist boat boarding point

💡 Alternative: visit one of the many authentic hawker centres with local and cheap cuisine - I liked the Chinatown Complex Food Centre best.
