Maconde Point is an iconic rock promontory on the south coast between Le Morne and Baie du Cap.

From the viewpoint, accessed by a short staircase, you'll get a breathtaking view of the rocky and very rugged coastline, the road winding along the sea and even see the Mauritian icon, Le Morne Mountain, in the distance.
As Maconda Point is just off the main road, it's an absolutely ideal quick stop on a road-trip around Mauritius.
You can park your car 50 metres from the viewpoint on the widened roadside.
The steps are quite steep, but there are only 50 of them, so the viewpoint is accessible to more or less everyone.
