The famous Le Morne Kitesurfing Beach is located directly below the iconic Le Morne Brabant mountain.

It is from this beach that the best views of the rock massif can be enjoyed. Surprisingly, though, Le Morne Kitesurfing Beach is very little frequented and you will always find plenty of space to yourself.

Swimming, kitesurfing and beach facilities

The beach is about 400 metres long and is half fine white sand and half extensive grassy areas bordered by mature trees.

The lagoon has very shallow and calm water without waves, which is why the beach is also very popular among families with children.

The unique geography of shallow water with no big waves but at the same time stable winds also make it absolutely ideal conditions for kitesurfing.

The beach is home to some kitesurfing schools and equipment rental shops, such as Mauritius Surf Holidays.

Hotels by the beach

At the southern end of the beach, stay at one of the most popular resorts on the island - Riu Palace Mauritius ****.

How to get there

A good quality tarmac road leads right down to the beach, ending with a large free car park.

In fact, you can park virtually anywhere along the beach, as even after the tarmac road ends, there is a forest path further along the coast that takes you to the base of Le Morne Brabant mountain.

There are no public transport buses to the beach.
