Alykes beach

Alykanas beach

The small, quiet resort of Alykes invites travellers for a relaxing seaside holiday in a beautiful setting of gentle hills covered with greenery and a wide range of beaches. It is connected by a promenade to the neighbouring resort of Alykanas.

Swimming and facilities

The resort of Alykes boasts over 2km of partially organised beach divided into several sections by artificial stone jetties.

Although the beach winds through the centre of the resort, it has a rather rural feel with small villas, sand dunes and tufts of grass.

The beaches around Alykes are covered with fine yellow sand and the entrance to the water is very gradual.

In the central part of the village of Alykes you will find sunbed and umbrella rental shops and several tavernas.

Popular excursion destinations from Alykes are the more northerly beaches of Xigia with its sulphur springs or the small bay of Makris Gialos.

Accommodation Alykes

The resort of Alykes is one of the cheapest on Zakynthos. Holiday accommodation in private apartments starts from 40 eur for a double room.

We'd recommend the highly rated Parashis Studios about half a kilometre from the beach. The slightly more expensive but highly rated Paradise Studios & Apartments, right on the beach, are ideal for a typical beach holiday.

For classic hotels, we recommend the Letsos Hotel ***.

How to get to Aylkes?

Alykes lies on the north-east coast of the island about 15 km from Zakynthos town, see route map. Parking is hassle-free and free all around the beach.

There is a bus from Zakynthos 4 times a day on weekdays, see timetable.
