Porto Vromi
A place to swim that doesn't face the masses of tourists is Porto Vromi. It's a picturesque bay and harbour where you have to walk a long way downhill, but the swim between the ubiquitous peaks is well worth it.
Don't expect beach service, there's only one bar. When any tourists do visit, it's mostly for the cruise to Navagio and the Blue Grottoes.
However, Porto Vromi can be reached by car on a narrow asphalt road leading from the inland village of Maries.
Free parking is available along the road, but in the summer season be prepared for a large number of cars parked more than 1 km from the beach.
