The resort of Sidari is one of the most famous and popular holiday destinations on the island of Corfu.

Located about 36 km north of Corfu Airport, it is surrounded by gentle hills covered with wild greenery and olive groves, beautiful beaches awarded with the Blue Flag for the cleanliness of the sea and above all the iconic rock formations and white cliffs.

Beaches and swimming

There's something for everyone in Sidari, from lovers of long, lively beaches to romantics looking for less exposed spots.

Right in the resort there is the long sandy beach of Sidari with a gentle entrance to the sea, many, many bars or tavernas, sunbed and umbrella rental (around 12 EUR per day for a set of two sunbeds), a variety of water attractions and facilities in the form of showers and toilets.

Canal d'Amour

The most famous spot, however, is the Canal tou Erota, often referred to as the Canal d'Amour.

The small sandy beach is located in a deeply cut bay, which is lined with breathtaking white cliffs and numerous small caves. The spot is ideal for swimming and snorkelling, but you won't have much room for sunbathing on the beach. The tiny beach fills up early in the morning and only the fastest will catch a spot. It is said that anyone who swims under the arch of the cave will secure the love of a loved one for eternity.

Other nice places to swim are the beaches of Apotripiti and Logas, about 4 km away, with its spectacular views of the cliffs and sunsets.

How to get there

There's a circular road from Corfu Town around the island to Sidari, and it takes around 45 to 60 minutes to get here. You'll find free parking at the main beach, but it fills up very quickly in high season and parking your car can be a problem if you're not staying here.

An alternative is to take the bus from Corfu. The A2 line runs here several times a day.

During high season, the S5 tourist line from Kassiopi also comes to Sidari.
