The fishing port of Kassiopi is located in the north of the island directly opposite Albania. The town is dominated by a Roman fortress, which can be reached from the church of Kassopitra.

Those who find a visit too tiring can head to one of the surrounding pebble beaches.

The beaches at Kassiopi

In the area you will find mainly smaller and uncrowded beaches with large pebbles, calm sea and a gradual entry into the water.

The rugged bottom and coastline make the area around Kassiopi ideal for snorkelling and diving.

There are two beaches in Kassiopi itself, Kalamionas and Kogevina beaches, which are equipped with bars and sunbed rental.

On the northern edge of Kassiopi you will find the most famous local beach , Bataria, with its spectacular views and crystal clear sea. There are also sunbed hire shops and tavernas, but it's already crowded from early morning.

The most beautiful beaches, however, can be found about 3 km east of Kassiopi on a wooded peninsula that offers maximum privacy. The beaches are pebbly. The most accessible is Avlaki Beach, while the most remote are the beaches of Vrachli, Arias, Tozufaka, Akoli, which can only be reached by narrow dirt paths.

How to get there?

Kassiopi lies on the main ring road around the island and can be reached from Corfu Town in about 35 minutes by car. If you're not staying here, expect an often lengthy search for a parking space. While you can park for free just about anywhere, you won't find any large car parks here.
