Marathias and Agia Varvara beaches

Marathias beach

Both beaches with golden sand can be found in the southeast of the island. Although only a narrow pedestrian zone separates them, each offers a completely different atmosphere.

Marathias is wide but short compared to Agia Varvara. The sea here is crystal clear and you can frolic in the waves.

The beaches are covered with fine golden sand and their total length exceeds 3 km. Southeast Corfu is considerably emptier than the northern half of the island, so you'll find plenty of places where you'll be completely alone even in the middle of high season.

You'll find several tavernas, bars and sunbed and umbrella hire shops.

The beaches are located in the village of Potamia near the town of Perivoli. You can only get here by car, there is no regular bus service.
