Issos beach

Issos Beach is a long and wide sand dune that stretches between the brackish Lake Korission and the resort of Agios Georgios. Many people confuse this resort with the more famous beach of the same name , Agios Georgios, which you will find at the other end of Corfu. Issos is located on the other side of the lake from Chalikounas beach.
The beach has several bars, while the nearby resort has many tavernas and shops. Here you'll find sunbed and umbrella hire (around 10 eur per day and a set of 2 sunbeds), fine sand and a gradual entrance to the sea.
The local sand dunes were featured in the 1981 Bond film For Your Eyes Only.
Water sports
The open sea, wide beach with no rocks or reefs and steady wind create ideal conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Issos beach has, among other things, equipment rental and surf schools.
Surf or kitesurf rentals here cost between 15 and 25 eur per hour depending on the type of equipment. Courses for beginners cost around 90 eur for two hours.
Accommodation
In the town of Agios Georgios, which is right on Issos beach, you'll find a range of accommodation from luxury resorts to small guesthouses.
The distance between the hotels and the sea is usually no more than 400 metres. In high season you will pay on average from 44 eur for a studio or from 73 eur for a double room with breakfast. Check out all the hotels and resorts:
