Moraitika

Moraitika

Moraitika is located on the east coast of Corfu and is one of the largest and liveliest resorts on the island. In fact, it forms one larger resort with the adjacent Messonghi.

Moraitika may be a really small town, but it's bursting with life in the summer. Here you'll find many restaurants, shops selling beach equipment and souvenirs, two classic supermarkets and many beach bars. Moraitika is surrounded by green hills covered with olive groves.

Beaches and swimming

Right in town you will find a nice beach about 2.5 km long, where fine sand is mixed with small pebbles and stones.

Moraitika beach stretches along the entire resort and is one of the most popular in Corfu. During the day, families with small children will enjoy the beach, as the entrance to the water is very gentle and without big waves, while at night the resort comes alive with nightlife.

Moraitika beach provides all the facilities from sun lounger and umbrella hire to a wide range of water activities and many restaurants and bars right on the beachfront. You can also use the showers and changing rooms.

The only drawback is the width of the beach, which is only about 10 metres, and in high season Moraitika can be quite crowded.

Accommodation in Moraitika

In Moraitika you will find quite a wide range of hotels from small 2* to larger beach resorts. On the other hand, in nearby Messonghi you will find more family apartments.

For cheaper accommodation around 48 eur per night on holidays, we would recommend the Aggelos Family Hotel about 100 meters from the beach or the Three Stars Beach Hotel right on the beach.

By road from Corfu Town it takes 21 km and about 30 to 35 minutes depending on traffic to get there. The problem in Moraitica is the lack of parking spaces. You can practically only stop in the centre at a few places or at the hotel resorts.

Even without a car, however, you can easily get here by Green Bus from these places:
