Pondamos, sometimes spelled Pontamos or Potamos, is the largest and best-maintained beach on the island of Chalki.

It is situated in a beautiful bay bordered by a picturesque, hilly coastline and boasts the best tourist facilities of any beach on Chalki.

Beach facilities and layout

Pontamos Beach features a man-made strip of fine grey sand with plenty of sun loungers and parasols, which gives way to a natural sandy and pebbly beach.

The entrance to the crystal-clear water is very gentle and mostly pebbly.

There is a fairly large restaurant right on the beach with reasonable prices.

You can hire a set of two sun loungers and a parasol here for 12 eur per day.

How to get there

Pondamos Beach is easily accessible on foot from the harbour in 10 minutes along a pleasant path.

From the harbour, head straight up the hill towards the interior. After less than 350 metres, you’ll see the beach.
