Pondamos, sometimes spelled Pontamos or Potamos, is the largest and best-kept beach on the island of Chalki.

It is located in a beautiful bay bordered by a photogenic hilly coastline and has the best tourist facilities of any beach on Chalki.

Facilities and appearance of the beach

Pontamos beach has a man-made strip of grey fine sand with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, which transitions into a natural sand and shingle beach.

The entrance to the crystal clear water is very gradual and mostly pebbly.

There is a fairly large restaurant right on the beach with good prices.

You can rent a set of 2 sunbeds + umbrella for 12 eur per day.

How to get there

Pondamos beach is easily reached on foot from the port in 10 minutes along a comfortable path.

From the port, head straight up the hill towards the inland. After less than 350 metres you will see the beach.
