Kania beach

Kania Beach

The small beach of Kania is located in a narrow bay with beautifully clear water about 2.5 km north of the port of Emporio (Chalki).

This beach is an ideal place for a quiet relaxation away from development, but due to its small size and remoteness, it can be quite crowded - especially on Saturdays and Sundays.

Beach facilities

There is a small bistro right on the beach offering drinks and small snacks such as sandwiches and gyros.

You can also rent a sun lounger and parasol from the bistro - prices are around 12 eur for a set of 2 sun loungers + parasol.

The beach is pebbly and the access to the water is rocky. However, Kania beach is great for swimming and snorkelling.

How to get there

There is a minibus from the port to the beach after every boat arrival from Rhodes (only for boats from Kamiros Skala).

This minibus is operated by the beach restaurant and the ride back to the port is by arrangement, usually so that you can comfortably catch the ferry back to Rhodes.

The cost is 5 eur for a return ticket and the journey takes about 10 minutes.

A more interesting transport to the beach is the water taxi, which has a punctual timetable and runs 2-3 times a day between Chalki port and the beach.

The price of a return ticket is also 5 eur.

The beach can also be reached on foot on a road with minimal traffic (de facto, only the aforementioned minibuses run on this road 2-3 times a day). The walk will take around 30 minutes, see the route map.
