Kania Beach
The small Kania beach is situated in a narrow cove with beautifully clear water, about 2.5 km north of the harbour in the town of Emporio (Chalki).
This beach is the ideal spot for a peaceful break completely away from built-up areas; however, due to its small size, it can get quite crowded despite its seclusion – particularly on Saturdays and Sundays.

Beach facilities
Right on the beach there is a small bistro serving drinks and light refreshments such as sandwiches and gyros.
You can also hire a sun lounger with a parasol from the bistro – prices are around 12 eur for a set of 2 sun loungers and a parasol.
The beach is pebbly and the entry into the water is rocky. However, Kania Beach is great for swimming and snorkelling.
How to get there
A minibus runs from the harbour to the beach after every boat arrives from Rhodes (only for boats from Kamiros Skala).
This minibus is run by the beach restaurant, and the return journey to the harbour is by arrangement; it usually departs in time for you to comfortably catch the ferry back to Rhodes.
The price is 5 eur s for a return ticket and the journey takes about 10 minutes.
A more interesting way to get to the beach is by water taxi, which has a fixed timetable and runs between Chalki harbour and the beach 2–3 times a day.
The price of a return ticket is also 5 eur.
You can also reach the beach on foot along a road with very little traffic (in fact, only the minibuses mentioned above travel along this road 2–3 times a day). The walk will take around 30 minutes; see the route map.
