Where to stay in Chalki

View from Chalki Castle

Although most tourists only visit Chalki as part of a half-day trip from Rhodes, some travelers spend 1 or more nights here.

We recommend staying in Chalki if you want to enjoy complete tranquility.

The moment the last ferry to Rhodes departs, the streets and beaches of Chalki will be deserted and you will enjoy Chalki in its authentic form.

Where to stay in Chalki

All accommodation is only in the town of Chalki, where the main port is located.

Hotels

There is currently only one fantastically rated classic hotel on the island , the Aretanassa ***.

The hotel can be found on the southern edge of Chalki, right by the sea, with spectacular views of the entire harbour.

Local accommodation

The vast majority of accommodation is local guesthouses, most of which have very good ratings.

For example, we would recommend the following guesthouses:

  • Villa Ftenagia - right on Ftenagia beach with sea views
  • Salt Retreat - a luxury boutique villa on the main promenade with direct private access to the sea
  • Remvi Seaside Houses - apartments in the quiet northern part of Chalki with breathtaking views of the town
  • Lady Stamatias House - a superbly rated apartment a short walk from Pondemos beach

Accommodation in Rhodes near the port of Kamiros Skala

If you are planning to travel around Rhodes by rental car and take the ferry to Chalki from Skala Kamiros, ideally stay in one of the following locations:

Accommodation prices and when to book

You can pay for 1 night in a 2 bed room at Chalki in high season between 120 eur and 160 eur.

In low season, guesthouses are available from 50 eur, but you need to take into account that from November to April there are significantly reduced ferry frequencies and many accommodations are closed during this period.

If you are heading to Chalki in the summer season, we recommend booking your accommodation at least 3 months in advance.
