Byzantine monastery on ancient foundations
A small town stood on the hill of Filerimos in ancient times, but very few archaeological remains of it have survived.
On the other hand, the buildings of the 16th century Byzantine monastery are very well preserved.
You can wander around all the outdoor areas and you can also take a peek inside the church of Our Lady of Filerimos.

During the summer season, it is open every day from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and during the winter from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, except on Tuesdays when it is closed.
Admission for adults is 10 eur.
The Filerimos Cross
On the other side of the parking lot from the monastery, walk 300 meters along the beautiful avenue to the famous Filerimos Cross, erected in 1930.
At the cross is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in all of Rhodes.
How to get there
There is a larger free car park right at the entrance to the monastery. A signposted turn-off leads from the town of Ialysos.
In the past, there was also a regular bus service to the top of the hill to the monastery, but it is currently out of service, so the only option is a taxi or rental car.
