Kilimanjaro
At 5,895 m, this highest mountain in Africa is the largest free-standing massif in the world. It is a symbol of the African continent situated in the north of the country near the border with Kenya.
Around 50,000 people attempt to climb Kili each year, with about a third succeeding. If you're not a fan of crowds, you can visit neighbouring Meru or head to Kenya's highest mountain, Mt. Kenya, which is considered more interesting in terms of natural beauty.
We haven't personally visited the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro yet, so we're just sharing some basic information here.
