What will you see and why is the museum so famous?
The Museo Soumaya houses more than 60,000 works of art from Europe and Latin America.
The most eye-catching is the extensive collection of works by Auguste Rodin, which is one of the largest outside of France.
But otherwise, the museum has a truly diverse collection:
- paintings by European and local masters.
- historical artefacts from everyday life
- sculptures
- models and models of historic buildings in Mexico
- and much more
But many visitors head to Soumaya primarily for the building itself.
The futuristic façade covered in thousands of aluminium hexagons is one of the most striking buildings in Mexico City.
