Botanical garden

The complex of several themed botanical gardens covers 91 hectares on the western edge of the city centre and was the first large public park in Kuala Lumpur.
The botanical gardens are the perfect place to relax for a while in a pleasant shady setting with many ponds, grassy areas and benches.

Orchid and bamboo gardens
The sprawling grounds are more of a collection of unrelated individual gardens, which only adds to its diversity.
We were definitely most impressed by the beautiful orchid garden directly opposite Bird Park.
In this garden you will discover dozens of orchid species from all over the world and although the area is small and you could easily walk through it in 5 minutes, I stayed for more than half an hour.
We also really liked the area around the main lake with its many bamboo and palm trees.
There is also a deer park a short distance away, but it was closed at the time of our visit.
Entrance fees and opening hours
Admission to the entire botanical gardens area is free.
It opens at 6:30am every day and closes at 10pm.
How to get there
The nearest metro station is Muzium Negara (green line 9) located on the southern edge of the Botanical Gardens. You must first cross the pedestrian bridge over the highway that leads from the parking lot of the National Museum.
We recommend combining a visit to the gardens with other attractions in the area, which can be reached within 15 minutes on foot - Bird Park, Butterfly Park, National Mosque, Museum of Islamic Art, National Monument.
