Museum of Islamic Art

As boring as the name sounds, it is the largest museum of Islamic art in Southeast Asia and features over 7,000 artifacts.
Given its ideal location and walking distance between Masjid Negara and the parks on the west side (such as Bird Park and the Botanical Gardens), the museum is perfect for at least a short stop when strolling through this part of Kuala Lumpur.

Museum collections - what will you see?
The museum is spread over a total of 2 floors and is divided into 12 sections.
We were most interested in the section with models of the most important mosques in Asia or the section with ancient copies of the Koran.
In other parts, in many showcases, you will see examples of typical historical clothing or weapons from all over the Islamic world.
Entrance fees and opening hours
The museum is open daily from 9:30-18:00, with the last entry at 17:30.
Unlike mosques, there is no dress-code required to enter the museum.
The ticket price for foreign visitors is 20 myr and can be paid by card or cash.
