Putrajaya in a nutshell

Putrajaya is a man-made city built between 1995 and 2001 as the new administrative capital of Malaysia.
It is the seat of the Federal Government of Malaysia, most ministries and major government offices. Putrajaya is also the seat of the judiciary.
The de facto capital of Malaysia is still Kuala Lumpur, 30 km away, where the Malaysian monarch and the legislature (parliament) reside.
Putrajaya is an extremely interesting and at times bizarre place with two huge mosques, wide boulevards and monumental government buildings.
We definitely recommend visiting it as part of a half-day trip from Kuala Lumpur or on the way from KL to KLIA, as Putrajaya is almost exactly halfway and KLIA Transit trains stop here.
