The harbour village of Chalki is the only inhabited settlement on the island, and almost all of its inhabitants live here. This beautifully maintained and clean little town stretches out around the harbour, featuring a lovely pedestrian promenade, numerous tavernas and several souvenir shops, as well as small supermarkets.
