Wine, monastery, mountains...

One of the main attractions of Omodos village is the local wine production. For its size, you'll find an unusual concentration of tavernas and wine bars, almost all of which offer free samples of local wines.

The centre of the village is dominated by the magnificent 17th-century stone Timios Stavros Monastery, which will be an oasis of calm to visit.

Although Omodos is not in the centre of the Troodos Mountains, due to its popularity and notoriety it provides more accommodation than other mountain villages and can serve as a good starting point for a tour of the mountains.
