Moutoullas

Moutoullas

This beautiful little village on the northern slopes of the Troodos Mountains impresses at first sight with its beautiful relief. The houses are built into the steep hillsides falling into deep valleys, and the village is dominated by a beautiful church built only in the 20th century.

The main attraction of Moutoullas, however, is another church, even listed by UNESCO. The unique church of Panayia tou Moutoulla, dating from 1280, is the earliest example of Cypriot rural religious architecture with its typical austere brick foundation and steep wooden roof.
