Cyprus can only be reached by air via two international airports in the Republic of Cyprus. There are no regular ferries to Cyprus.
By air to Cyprus without a tour operator
Around 2017, low-cost airlines started to discover Cyprus, which has significantly reduced the average price of flights to the island. There are two international airports in the Republic of Cyprus:
- Larnaca LCA Airport - the largest international airport with connections to all of Europe and the Middle East. Larnaca Larnaca is a major international airport with connections to the European Union and Europe. Larnaca is dominated by Cyprus Airways and Wizz Air.
- Paphos PFO Airport - the second international airport in western Cyprus, dominated by Ryanair, is the best base for travel to the resorts around Paphos, Coral Bay and Polis Chrysochous.
Airfares from mainland Europe during the summer holidays are around 250 eur for a return trip, with little chance of a lower price if you fly on a fixed date. Off-season flight deals are also available under 80 eur
Enter Cyprus via North Cyprus
The third airport(Ercan ECN) on the island can be found in the internationally unrecognised Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Is it possible to enter "southern" Cyprus via Northern Cyprus? And can I arrive in the Republic of Cyprus (Southern Cyprus) and depart from Northern Cyprus?
Please refer to the Visa chapter for detailed information.
