Mastercard Lounge at Prague Airport

Mastercard is the main (and currently the only) airport lounge in Terminal 1 at Prague PRG Airport.
Although I frequent the Erste Premier Lounge in Terminal 2 more often, I also visit the Mastercard Lounge frequently due to the fact that Prague is my home airport.
The lounge was completely renovated in 2025.
How do you get to the lounge and is it worth paying to enter?
Opening hours and location of the lounge
The lounge can be found in Terminal 1 for all departures to non-Schengen countries.
It is located on the 1st floor above departure gate "B" next to the "Runway" restaurant.
The walking distances to the different parts of the airport are roughly as follows:
- B-gates approx. 2-5 minutes
- A-gates approx. 5-10 minutes
Please note that there is a security check at Terminal 1 right before each departure gate, so make sure you leave the lounge well in advance!
You can check the exact location of the lounge on the airport map: prg.aero/mastercard-lounge.
Opening hours are daily 5:30-22:00.

Space and atmosphere - the best view of the tarmac
Following a complete renovation in 2025, the lounge has been significantly enlarged and the view of the aircraft and the airport apron, which dominates the entire space, has been greatly enhanced.
One entire side of the lounge is oriented towards the aircraft stands and there are many dining tables along the windows.
The lounge is further divided into three other sections with seating.
- The section closest to the buffet is half filled with dining tables and half with comfortable couches with tables suitable for eating and working on a laptop
- the section closest to the outdoor terrace is mainly filled with comfortable armchairs for relaxing
- the area right next to the entrance to the lounge is without a view, but it is also by far the quietest and therefore ideal for work.
Outdoor smoking terrace
A hidden treasure of the Mastercard Lounge is the outdoor smoking terrace, popular with smokers but also with non-smokers.
As the entire section is completely outdoors, the smoke dissipates quickly.
The outdoor terrace is a great place to sit on nice days and again, a great view of the planes.
Food and drink on offer
The biggest minus of the Mastercard Lounge is the not-so-good food and drink offerings, which are actually exactly the same as the Erste Premier Lounge in Terminal 2.
The main buffet area is quite cramped and often crowded.
The menu is always divided into breakfast, lunch and dinner, with lunch and dinner being very similar.
A full hot meal menu is usually not available until around 10:00, but you can also have hot meals such as omelettes, sausages or bacon in the morning.
From lunch onwards, there are usually two hot meals and a soup on offer. There is practically never a shortage of small chicken cutlets and goulash, which I didn't like at all on either of my visits.
From the cold dishes, you can choose from three types of cheese, ham and salami, but the menu is strikingly reminiscent of the cheapest available products at the Billa supermarket, which is located in the public part of the airport...
There are also some vegetables and fruit, but usually only olives, cucumbers, tomatoes and grapes.
Cold meals are available throughout the day.
The sweet food offer is practically limited to breakfast only. Occasionally, one type of bun is available during the day.
You can pour your own juices from the bottles in the fridge. However, there are absolutely no storage facilities for glasses, so pouring juices is quite cumbersome.
The other part of the lounge offers beer (bottled only), a very poor selection of wines and a mediocre selection of liquor and hard liquor.
In both parts of the lounge you can also use the coffee machines, postmix, where you pour drinks like Coca Cola, Coca Cola Zero, Fanta or plain soda.
Lounge equipment
In addition to food and drink, the Mastercard Lounge also offers other services.
Showers
Showers are available at the restrooms free of charge for all lounge patrons. You must request a key from the front desk to enter.
There are 2 showers and therefore a rather long queue can build up for more than 30 minutes.
Wi-fi
Internet access is available via free wi-fi.
The internet speed is very good and suitable for playing and downloading videos.
Charging plugs
Plugs for charging electronics are available for most chairs and all work surfaces.
All plugs are "European" F-type only and some also come with both USB-A and USB-C connectors.
Desktops with computer and printer
An asset of the Mastercard Lounge is the ample number of ideal desks for laptop work, which can be found in all areas of the lounge.
A big difference from Erste Premier at Terminal 2...
Children's corners
The Mastercard Lounge does not have a kids' corner for younger children, but they do get to use the free playstation.
Conclusion and my rating
After the 2025 refurbishment, the Mastercard Lounge has definitely moved up a level.
The space has expanded significantly, the view outside has improved and the number of suitable places to work on your laptop has improved.
Positives
- Different types of seating - suitable for relaxing, working and eating
- Fast wi-fi
- Great views of the airport apron
- Outdoor terrace
- Paid admission available for all passengers
Negatives
- Poor quality food - below average cheap ingredients
- Frequent overcrowding
- Poor selection of alcoholic beverages (especially beer)

I find the transition between the old and new parts of the lounge so claustrophobic. They could at least spruce up that ugly wall with some nice wallpaper.
Bacon for breakfast? Is that new? I've never seen that before, and it's almost like I'm going to the racetrack.
