Namuang Waterfall 2
Na Muang Waterfall 2 and the lesser known "Waterfall 3" are a completely different level than the easily accessible Na Muang Waterfall 1.
This is no longer a quick stop, but a short but fairly intense hike through the jungle.
And this is exactly why significantly less people get here.
How difficult is the climb?
The ascent to Na Muang 2:
- β± about 20-40 minutes up (depending on fitness)
- π approx. 1-1.5 km (depending on route option)
- π s teep climb, uneven terrain
- πͺ’ ropes and climbing over roots in places
- Map of the walking route from the car park
It's not long, but it's more physically challenging than it looks on the map.
In places the route is confusing and without clear guidance.
π My tip: Always stay on the right side of the river and waterfalls from the parking lot! There is a trail marked on the maps on the left side as well, but it is significantly more challenging and less marked.
What about Na Muang 3?
The so-called "Waterfall 3" is not an official site.
π More like:
- continuing on into the jungle
- unofficial route
- minimum of people
β Reality:
- no signage
- no security
- more for the more experienced

Map and directions (important)
π The key is:
- go by Google Maps to Na Muang Waterfall 2 parking
- ignore some of the older sat navs (they often lead wrong)
There is a rather confusingly marked large car park by the stalls and restaurants, but you can continue by car along the concrete path until much closer to the waterfalls.
Practical tips
- π₯Ύ sturdy shoes (not flip flops)
- π§ water (hot + humid)
- π go ideally in the morning or later in the afternoon
- count on slippery terrain after rain
The π Humidity and heat make the climb significantly more challenging than the length would suggest.
How to fit it into the day
Ideal combination:
- Na Muang 1 (quick stop)
- Na Muang 2 (hike)
- Overlap Stones
In total, we spent about 60 minutes at Namuang 2 waterfall.
Is Na Muang 2 (and 3) worth it?
β Yes, if:
- you want a more active program than just beaches
- you don't mind a short but steep hike
- you are looking for a quieter place
β More likely not, if:
- you are expecting a leisurely stroll
- you don't have suitable footwear
- you're pressed for time
π‘ Alternative:
For an effortless quick stop, stay at Na Muang Waterfall 1.
