Masjid Kampung Hulu

Kampung Hulu Mosque is located in the old part of Malacca in Chinatown and although it looks inconspicuous at first glance, it is the oldest mosque in Malacca and one of the oldest in the whole of Malaysia.
The mosque was completed in 1728 and is built in a very interesting and unusual style.
Its architecture is a mix of Malay, Javanese and Chinese styles. The minaret resembles a pagoda.
The mosque is not designed for tourist visits, however, you can see the interior from the outside and if you have long trousers and draped shoulders, you can easily see inside. However, there are no shawl or robe rentals available.
