Cheng Hoon Teng Temple

Cheng Hoon Teng (or Green Cloud Temple) is the largest Chinese temple in the historic centre of Malacca.

The temple practices the so-called "Three Teachings", i.e. Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. With a foundation date of 1645, it is the oldest Chinese temple in the whole of Malaysia.

The Kampung Kling Islamic Mosque and Sri Poyatha Moorthi Hindu Temple are also located on the same street.

Tourist Visit

The temple is open to the general public including tourists without restrictions.

There are no special requirements for dress-code during the visit, only if you want to enter the temple's interior and not only the courtyard, you have to take off your clothes.

Cheng Hoon Teng Temple is open every day from 7:00-18:30.

Entrance is free.
