Petronas Twin Towers

The twin skyscrapers of the Petronas Towers are an icon of Kuala Lumpur. They were built in 1998 and measure 452 metres, when this height made the Petronas Towers the tallest buildings in the world until 2004.
Today, they rank as the 21st tallest buildings in the world. They are no longer the tallest even in Kuala Lumpur - surpassed by "The Exchange 106" at 454 metres and the world's second tallest building Merdeka 118 at 679 metres.
In total, the Petronas Twin Towers have 88 floors, with the lower and underground sections containing the huge Suria KLCC shopping mall as well as the Dewan Philharmonic Petronas concert hall.
Islamic-inspired architecture
The two towers are identical and stand on the plan of an eight-pointed star, a graphic symbol used in many places in the Quran and very often found in Islamic architecture.
The plan and form of the towers refer to the strong Islamic influence that is evident in Malaysia.
The famous Skybridge - take a walk among the skyscrapers
An iconic architectural feature is the 170-metre high glass bridge between the two towers.
The two-storey pedestrian bridge is only open to the public with the purchase of a ticket, details are described below.
Breathtaking night lighting
The Petronas Twin Towers are at their most beautiful at night, change my mind!
The two towers are illuminated with thousands of bright white lights from dusk to midnight and even though there are taller skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur today, this light show still makes the Petronas Twin Towers an absolute top attraction.
Judge for yourself, the nighttime spectacle of the towers is simply irresistible:
In KLCC Park just below the towers, you can also watch the water and light show at Symphony Lake in the evening.
Visiting the observation deck: advance booking is required!
Open to the public is the observation deck on the bridge connecting the two towers on the 42nd floor and then the observation deck on the 88th floor.
However, the most beautiful views can be enjoyed after dark from KLCC Park on the towers themselves.
The observation deck, for example, has one major disadvantage compared to the Menara or Merdeka 118 towers: you can't see the most beautiful skyscrapers, namely the Petronas Twin Towers...
Even so, we would still recommend visiting the observation deck just to walk along the iconic Skybridge connecting the two towers.
Prices and reservations
You can only buy a combined ticket for both sights - the Skybridge on the 42nd floor and the main observation deck on the 88th floor.
Open daily 9am-9pm.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. This is because the capacity of the observation decks is limited and they tend to sell out 3-6 days in advance!
You will really have virtually no chance to buy a ticket on the spot for an earlier date than 3 days from now.
Purchase tickets exclusively through the official website eticket.petronastwintowers.com.my.
Prices are different for local and international visitors. If you buy your tickets less than a week in advance, there are often only significantly more expensive "Priority Package" tickets available, but this saves a maximum of 15 minutes and in our opinion is not worthwhile at all.
- 98 myr - Adult international visitors (Priority Package is for 150 myr)
- 50 myr - Children under 12 and seniors over 61
- Current pricing: petronastwintowers.com.my/admission-ticketing

Hi, has anyone here tried shopping at Malaysia NRIC? Possibly at another attraction. Does anyone even check at the entrance then? Thanks
Entry is 120 MYR. It is safer to pre-book online. A better alternative is a much higher vantage point from the TV tower
