The museum is housed in the house of Albrecht Dürer, the famous Renaissance painter, graphic artist and art theorist of European stature, whose works include more than 1,100 drawings or 188 paintings. Albrecht Dürer was born in Nuremberg in 1471 and bought the house that houses the museum in 1509. He lived and created his work there for more than 20 years.
Museum - what to see
Albrecht Dürer's house is furnished according to its 16th-century appearance. You can visit the Renaissance kitchen, the living rooms or the bedroom where Albrecht Dürer lived.
