Nuremberg lies in a temperate climate zone on the border between continental and oceanic climates.

This means that there are 4 seasons in Nuremberg, with relatively large differences between winter and summer.

Summers in Nuremberg are often hot and relatively dry, although statistically it rains most in summer. Usually, however, these are short thunderstorms occurring mainly at night or in the evening. In general, rainfall in Nuremberg is below average for Europe.
